U.S. Business Summit in Mauritius Kicks Off with High-Level Engagements

Port Louis, August 21, 2024: The U.S. Embassy to Mauritius, in collaboration with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Mauritius, launched the 2024 U.S. Business Summit in Mauritius this morning, August 21, 2024, at the InterContinental Resort in Balaclava. This two-day summit, the first of its kind in two decades, is a significant milestone in strengthening economic ties and exploring business opportunities between the United States and Mauritius.

Day One of the summit featured a series of high-level discussions and networking opportunities, with opening remarks delivered by U.S. Ambassador Henry Jardine and Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs Cynthia Griffin. The event was also graced by the presence of several key Mauritian government officials, including the Hon. Dr. Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development; Hon. Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance; Hon. Maneesh Gobin, Attorney General and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade.
