IP-enabled innovation and creativity drive job creation, foster foreign direct investment and supports economic growth across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Innovative and creative industries thrive in countries with strong and effective IP protection, which enables investment into the next generation of technology. As countries across the region strive to grow domestic industries in order to become more globally competitive, strong IP laws and robust enforcement mechanisms will be critical to this goal.
The IP Index shows how countries with robust IP frameworks have stronger overall business environments—including a 38% higher likelihood of attracting venture capital.
